Hi i am trying to connect BCM400 and CS1k using SIP, i configured NRS and CS1K is registered(i confirmed it with dynamic IP assigning to CS1k), am not sure whether BCM is registered or not. i can dial either from BCM nor from CS1k. Is there any confirmation that BCM has registered properly in NRS??? I am using CDP at both end. HAs anybody done that?? who can gave some tips??

Yes, login to your NRS and make sure the BCM's IP is populated in the configuration, gateway endpoints, Call Signaling IP column. If the ip is there, your BCM is registered to the NRS.

Once you get the BCM registered, if your still having problems let us know.

When i login to NRS and check gateway End point it shows IP of BCM, but i have a question that as i assigned a static IP to BCM it will show that IP which i assigned, is this shows that BCM has registered??? I tried dynamic IP assigning to BCM and it shows unregistered against BCM in Gateway End point. (I tried also resetting SS after Cutovr and commit). I dont know how to confirmed whether it is registered BCM or not. No dialing working between both CS1K and BCM.
Can somebody guide some tips about BCM SIP config or NRS tips for BCM registration.
Regards

If u log into the BCM it will tell u if the BCM is registered to the gatekeeper. Go to resources then highlight ip trunks then look at the table at the bottom half of the screen.

BCM NOT support dynamical registration on NRS when using SIP. Only static configuration. Also you need to set UDP as transport on NRS, beacuse BCM don't support TCP.

There is no way to ensure that BCM properly registered on NRS. The only way to check it - try to make call.

UDP is already set as transport, in BCM IP trunk at bottom it shows Gatekeeper is running but no dial between 2 system.
BCM ext are starting from 2 and CS1k starting from 6. i have created CDP=6 in BCM and in NRS under BCM i use 2 as CDP and under CS1k i used CDP=6. I am not very much sure about cdp stuff at BCM. Could somebody gave some TIPS to programme CDP at BCM site? and in NRS so that i could resolve this problem

Hi, I just did one of these. there are some more tips from the folks that helped me on a thread I posted. I did H323, but the process is very similiar.

1. Make should when you click on IP telephony under services that your published IP is set to the LAN connection that is plugged into your network, usually IP-LAN2.
2. The gateway type and protocol needs to be CSE and CSE1000.
3. In the NRS endpoint entry, check that the NCS option is checked.
4. You have to create routing entries for the endpoint so the NRS knows which digits to send to the BCM. For example if the BCM is going to have DNs/target lines that begin with a 5 you need a routing entry for 5.
5. You have to setup your target lines received number entry with the DID you want to pass through and then assign that target line to a system DN.
6. You can create destination codes on the BCM side to auto route dialed numbers to the IP trunks. If you want to send anything that starts with a 4 you need to setup a dest code and then under the schedules drop down, normal you tell it the route for the IP trunks.

Hope this helps. Post if you need more help.

2 lliesbthighs:

You need to create a static entry on NRS for BCM.
On BCM you need to fill IP trunk settings only for SIP!!! at the proxy IP you need to write IP address of the Node on SS. Next you must fill SIP URI (as you create URI on SS) and set codecs. After that - some routing entries and it will work.

BCM starting DN is 2, so i have to define cdp=2 in nRS, am i correct?
As far the CS1k NRS and CDP concerned i have no problem accept BCM. I also created same SIP URI at both ends CS1K when i set proxy to Node dialing doesnt work also. I set gatekeeper just to check the message "gatekeeper is running" i mean to check whether BCM has registered or not.
