Good day all
I need help with a hard problem on my side.

I have a large internal sip based telephone system we developed using Asterisk server and sip phone clients for internal calls.

Now what I want to do is take it a step further and make a php/flex web page that employees can log into to make calls using there notebook mic and speakers using the asterisk server to call other employees on sip phones without having some sip phone app installed on their pc or mac.

I’m not looking at supporting video at all, only voice calls.

Can anyone point me in the right direction ?

As far as I can figure out myself most flash web based Voip apps use some sort of php script to make the actual call in asterisk sins flash and as3 can't speak to the asterisk server directly. But I am stumped on how to do it.

I think you need to look into the API's you get with Asrerix. I've looked at but can't readily find the avaiable API's but I'm sure they are there.
PHP is a server side language which roughly means by the time a web page gets displayed the PHP as stoped executing so you can't have a pipe between the web page and the PHP code. The flash stuff should be abel to make a call (embeded in the web page) to the asterix server, but as you say in your post flash can't talk directly to asterix (why is this?) I've no guidance to give.
On the bright side looks like there is a support community online.
