The boss is looking at a new Polycom SoundStation 6000 SIP conference phone and wants to know if we can plug it in just like the 4610SW IP phone on his desk. "No," I say, "We don't have an SES server." "Look," he says, "If I configure the 4610 to use SIP it still works!"
So what is really going on with the 4610? Is it using SIP even though we don't have an SES server? Our system is a Definity G3si, R013x.01.5.642.3 = g3v13 CM 3.1.5 = Communication Manager 3.1.5. To further confuse matters, we do have SIP trunks set up between the 8500 media server and a separate 8500 Expanded Meet-Me Conferencing server.
Thanks.
