Hi,

I am curious to know

1. Would it be faster to run a query which accesses multiple tables spanned across multiple databases or the same query which accesses same tables which are all in one single database?

2. What are the various factors that needed to be considered to create multiple databases for the same application?

3. (a). What are the advantages and disadvantages of having all tables in one single database?
(b). What are the advantages and disadvantages of having multiple databases for the same application?

Thanks.

It really depends what you mean!

Relational databases are there in one aspect to cut out data repetition. If you have a customer and order single table you would have to repeat all the customer info (name address etc) and all the order info (number delivery details etc) for each item on the order creating a huge and potential un-readable table!
