I have a SQL 7 database that switches to single user mode. I found out that if you have a maintenance plan set up on a database and if you selected the option to automatically repair, it will switch the database to Single User mode. My question is that once it fixes the database, does it turn off the Single User option or do we have to do it manually?
Also, is there any way to fix it other than to delete the current maintenance plan and create a new plan and choose not to automatically fix problems?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Rinuv,
Fixing a database is a pretty severe thing to do...SS7 has to switch to single user mode to make sure that nobody changes the data whilst the database is being re-jigged...if this is a regular task that you are running maybe you should be doing something less severe like a dbcc check_db?
I haven't used the maintenance plan yet, so maybe I am talking rubbish ;-) Anyone else who has experience of the plan please feel free to correct me!

<a href= home
