Single User Mode am locked out

Hoping someone is out there to help me,
I am trying to login to my CMS but it is in Single user mode, have gone through all users and it is root and console if I kill -9 the root then I lose the xterm window if I kill -9 the console then console logs off and I have to log back in, only other one is inova but there ate big red letters saying do not touch and I don't want to make matters worse.
Any thoughts

Log in as 'root'. Do 'su cmssvc'. You should be able to pull up the CMS Main Munu from there. Go to Maintenance and chang the CMS State to 'Multi-User'.
