During start-up,im recieving a "beep" from my PC.Why?

A single beep would indicate all tests passed during the POST procedure. As long as everything boots up just fine, you shouldn't have any problems. Enkrypted

Actually, the beep occurs BEFORE the POST completes. One method your computer uses to tell you that some hardware is failing is to give you beeps. However, how does the computer tell you your PC speaker is not working? It can't! Therefore, the single BEEP is the part of the POST test to tell you your speaker is working.

If you don't hear a beep when your PC starts up, your speaker is broken/not connected.
