I have a 76 page document that was set up as a single page pdf to be distributed on CD. All page numbers have "TR-" before the page number. The document is now being printed on a sheetfed press, so I need to set it up with left- and right-hand pages. I also need to insert blank left-hand pages before the start of another section.

Is there a simple way to do this? When I check facing pages, my page number boxes are still on the right side, which is how they were set up on the master page. Do I now need 2 master pages? One for a left-hand page and 1 for a right?

Also, when I insert a blank page, ID counts that blank page as a numbered page, so my page numbers get all messed up. I still need the page numbers from the printed version to match the page numbers of the pdf version. Is there an easy way to do this, or do I have to manually put the page numbers in?

When you go from single page to facing pages you need to specify that in your master pages.

Right Click or Ctrl Click on the Mac on the page in the Master pages,

Master Options

2 pages

Put the left and right number appropriately on each page.

Apply these pages to the rest of your doucment, click on the top one, shift click the bottom one, right click, apply master pages, select the master page.

Also, after the blank page (I presume it has no number on it) right click that page, Numbering and Section options, start new secition, start numbering from (insert number)

bit of a pain, but it will work
