Is this possible?
Current software load: R016x.03.0.124.0
Currently no IP phones in place yet.

Backgroud. Connected buildings/warehouse facility. Total 450+ associates.
Emergency calls - User dials 911 and crisis alert notifies 10 users of the extension that called in the building.

Need: For calls that don't need to reach 911 at least initially or to notify First Resonders internally of a need for assistance.

Goal, a single extension that when dialed will ring a number of internal phones (First Responders 30+ associates) to notify them when we have a situation on site and where they need to report in order to help provide assistance? The first person to answer the phone will handle the call, and the other phones will stop ringing.

Considerations:

1. Digital phones will display that it says it's a First Responder call.
2. Calls do not go to voicemail/coverages or EC-500.

Open to any suggestions to accomplish this goal.

Thank you.

One option is to set up a cover answer group (add cover answer-group [next, or pick a number]) and add all your extensions in there. Assign the Answer Group as point 1 on a cover path (change cover-path X) and assign the cover path to the extension you want to use. If X-ported or left logged out, calls immediately follow coverage and will ring all extensions in the group simultaneously.

Older versions of CM were limited to 8 extensions in an answer-group but the latest versions (6.3) allow for up to 100.

you also need to use the ars analasys digit conversion to delete the 3 digits for 911 and insert a new number that will point to the new extension number

Cover Answer Group. I can add up to 100 users. In my test group I had 10, including myself.
1. Call rang all test phones including mine which had EC-500 turned on, and it went to my cell/cell voicemail.
2. Is it possible to ring all phones in the group until one person picks up and not forward, cover, go to voicemail.
3. If EC-500 can't be avoided, can I display caller ID of the internal DID emergency number?

In our ARS, we send 911 and 9-911 both to Emergency. This is not changing. The focus here is for calls that might not need 911, but need to notify a First Responder (think First Aid warden and/or someone to assist with less critical incidents)

Thanks for the feedback.

I don't think it's possible to avoid EC500 in this case.

Are you satisfied with using your mobile voicemail? I ask because I have my mobile phone directed back to my corporate voicemail so I just have one voice mailbox. I did a quick test and calls to the answer-group ring my desk and mobile via EC500 but do not cover to my voicemail at all. Changing to a 2nd mobile phone with standard mobile voicemail and the call dropped into that mailbox. Just a thought.

Another method would be to assign bridged appearances of the extension and limit bridged calls to EC500 in the off-pbx station mapping. It still allows for ringing to multiple stations and offers some additional features such as visual alert only or delayed ringing to some phones with per button ring assignments.

keep in mind that several countries have laws that deny you from blocking 911 calls!!!!

On the third page on the off-pbx-telephone setting you can select which calls also ring on your EC500.

Set "C" to No and covered calls wont ring on your mobile.

Why not just put a bridged appearance of an extension on the phones you want to ring. Once answered it stops ringing.Depending on your software release you can have up to 25, 63, or 255 (SA8608) bridged appearances.
