I have a customer with a small motel 17 rooms with partner 11 rel 4.1 everything works well but we have had a lot of problems using MLS6 phones

motel is in port charlotte fl so It will be remodled thanks to hurricane Charley ( I went down yesterday and salvged the ksu/voice mail fax machine ect before the looters got to them )

I havent checked the phones but since the roof was gone and I had water pouring out the mls 34d It looks like we will be replacing them

So I m thinking we will have to get new room phones should we go with Ero 6 or is there a single line phone with a partner compatible m/w lights somebody could recommend

We use the Avaya 6211 single line telephone with message waiting LED, also have a "data port" RJ-11 on the back for the guest to connect a modem.

Actually, the 2500 Series with Message waiting lights are my favorites. They will hold up through anything. And they look nice too. I am not sure wether or not they come with Data Ports though.

DO NOT THROW AWAY THE TELEPHONES!!!
We have rebuilt many telephones with SEVERE water damage, even from floods where they were full of silt. This will save you a lot of cash over replacing them. Call me (800) 797-0070 x202.

Paul144 has a point. If those phones were powered down when they got wet (most likely since the power probably went out long before the roof went) about all that would be damaged is the speakers, mics and handsets. Something to consider and they will be clean!

skip,

in a motel anything avaya or over 50 bucks would be overkill....i would've just get basic telephone sets programmed them to be intercom first, local only. use call restriction buttons if they have a CA-48....or call accounting software off the smdr no charge-back calls....

imo......lol

I like the Avaya 6211 types, but they are too nice and might be stolen. Nothing like a nice 2500 set in brown. No data port. Not cutting edge. Not taken - maybe... They sound great and are reliable.
That means fewer service calls skip!
Lose the MLS everything. The newer P34D is much better. Hopefully it's cover under insurance. The P6's have been very good too. And they don't work at home if stolen. I'd still go with SLP's in the rooms, I don't know of 2500 style sets with LED MWL's. Too bad.

MW lamps are the problem

I tried sitech but the mwl wern't compatible

thats why we went with mls6 We got refurbs for 25

6211's look good I went ahead and ordered one I thought I would play with it a while

I know I could repair , dry out replace handsets and FLex circuits but I would really like to get rid of the MLS ( I have had more problems with them on this site than all other mls phones I have out )

theft really hasnt been a issue we did have one handset that was thrown in the bay by a angry wife but the owner just charged their credit card for it

customer yesteday told me to go ahead and get new phones ordered she hopes to do a partial reopen in a month

I have been trying to get Sprint to call forward the lines but so far their saying they havent been able to get to the CO to start repairs

I believe all of Teledex's hospitality phones now include an option for "Avaya" message waiting -- prices very reasonable too. Include programmable buttons too..

Check out their website.
