Good morning all,

Forgive me if this question has already been answered; however, I'm trying to come up with a solution for a customer who has a unique office setup.

The customer has used an Avaya Partner for years, with 2 cordless phones run out the analog port on the back of 2 desktop extensions. I have found a way with the new Avaya 1416 telephones we put in to make everything ring as they desire with one exception. Currently I have a ring group established with ext. 13 (desktop phone), ext. 17 (cordless), and ghost extension 24 which is routed to analog incoming line port 5 (for getting the ring group to fail over to ext. 13's voicemail. However, when the customer is on a call on ext. 13, the cordless phone will ring and it irritates them to hear it going off. I suggested turning the volume down to no avail.

So, is there any way possible to allow a single line device to act like/be bridged off/ etc another extension so that both the desktop phone and the analog phone believe they are the same extension number? Thus, when the call is answered on the desktop the cordless doesn't ring. The whole purpose of the cordless is just so that they can take incoming desktop calls when they are away from their desk.

So far, the only thing I can think is either putting in an ETR card with their old 18Ds or upgrading them to essential which I really don't want to do as I don't think they will like the way it works with park zones and pools (they only have 3 lines so kinda unnecessary). I appreciate your thoughts and responses.
