Hey Guys,
I have two extensions on my NEC Elite system that I am trying to figure out how to route one particular DID to two different extensions.
Example, DID 621 to ext 119 and 120.
I don't do this for a living so I could use some friendly advice.
Thanks.

A DID can be routed to only one specified extension. You can create a CAR key with a unique and unused extension number, route the DID to that number, then add a few CAP keys to those two phones and then place the car/cap keys on buttons of those phones. You might consider bringing in someone familiar with the system to program this up. It can get a little confusing. And depending on what software level you have determines if you need to use 4 or 8 ports as CAR keys. Your system size (port capacity) is also affected> CAR keys count against you extension capacity.

Okay, I took care of this situation but now I find out that you cannot answer the incoming DID call when its called, you get ERROR on the display.
The Red LED flashes on the phone, the ringer of course works and the display tells me what DID is coming in on but pressing the speaker key or any other line key does not work.
I seem to think it has something to do with line key assignments but I haven't figured that out yet.
I also had an issue with not being able to access voice mail using line key 16. I finally got that figured out.
This appears to be the only phone with this problem so far and I thought about just moving it to another extension but I would rather figure this out and hopefully you guys can help.
Thanks.

Error means that you do not have a CAP (call arrival key) assigned on a button on the phone. Look at MB 4-12 and 4-43. The CAP key block number used in 4-12 has to match in 4-43.

That was it!
Man thanks a million!
I am keeping notes by the way, again thanks!
