When 3 of us want to run a paradox script simultaneously it locks 2 of us out. Only when one person logs out of paradox does it allow another user to even look at tables.
Is there a way that all 3 of us could use it simultaneously?

Yes, Paradox is designed for multi-user use but it must be configured correctly. Check out faq177-3972 for details.

Hi umaandsusan,

You probably have the answer by now, but just in case.

Go to control panel
BDE Administrator
Configuration
Drivers
Native
Paradox
Net Dir

Enter a path in here that you can all see from your machines. The letter or path needs to be the same on each machine. In your case it would probably be best if it is the path to where your paradox tables are.

Then save.

You will then all be able to access those tables at the same time. The database net file will control who has priority if more than one of you tries to change the same record at the same time.

Let me know how it goes.

Adding a couple of thoughts to Bystander's comments:

1. All users need full access to the directory you've selected for the .NET file; that is, they need to be able to read and write files to that folder.

2. For best results, map the computer hosting the .NET directory as a drive letter on all machines you expect to run your Paradox application from.

Hope this helps...
