Small site with an ACS R7.0 processor w/Gen II 18D's. They want to set up Simultaneous Paging to page internally to all the extensions from their phones. Questions:

1 - Do I need to set up a Loudspeaker Paging Line (#617) if it's not an external paging system and they just want to page from the phones? If there's one already set up (for Line 5), should I remove it?
2 - Do I need to set up Group Call Distribution (#206) and assign all the lines to Group 1? If they're already set up, should I change them to 2 - Not Assigned?
3 - I added the extensions to Group 1 for Calling Group Extensions (#502), so they're all there.

Currently, the system has Line 5 set up on the Loudspeaker Paging Line and all lines are assigned to Group 1 for the Group Call Distribution. When the customer punches in I*70 and picks up the handset now, though, they get the "incompatible" error tone that kind of sounds like a European police car. I assume at least one of the settings above is incorrect, or is there something else I should be checking?

Thanks in advance!

Try Intercom *71. That's your telephone group (1). Simultaneous page is if you have an external paging system.

Intercom 70 goes only to the loudspeaker paging line defined in #617

Intercom *70 goes to the phones in Calling Group 1 AND the loudspeaker paging line defined in #617. If you do not have any phones in group 1, *70 will give you wave-off.

Intercom *71 goes to just the phones in calling group 1.

Thanks - I had the customer try Intercom *71, and while he didn't get the intercept tone, it didn't page, either - it pretty much did nothing. All of the extensions were added to Group 1 via #502. Is there something I'm missing?

If you dial 71 does it ring the phones? #502, group 1, should be all you need to do for that.

I believe that if you are using the Simultaneous Paging, all extensions need to be assigned to call gr0up 4
