I need to test dial some numbers but don't know anyone in Japan, Indonesia, and other various countries who can test dial. I was hoping there was possibly a service or VOIP provider who I can set my profile to say "China" then make a test call to International Toll Free and Universal International Toll Free numbers back to the US. I tried using Skype and it didn't work. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Toni

What "profiles" are you testing? IN other words, what are you testing and why?

UIFN and ITFS (Universal International Toll Free) - Testing new service from telco. Need test calls from various countries.

Don't think VoIP providers will work as the idea is to break out in the local country, so even if I dialled US from the UK using a VoIP, the call would not enter the PSTN network until it hit the US.
You need to somehow originate a PSTN call in each country. Can't think how you could do that though.

Only the truly stupid believe they know everything.

You might contact the tech support of your service provider to do some international test calls for you. They certainly should have the facilities to do that.

Thanks - Yeah they have tested all the numbers but I gotta know for myself :) - - We're emergency response so it's got to be right. I'm using employees with family/friends abroad, and when I'm desperate I look up people on Skype and contact them and ask if they have time to make a quick call to me and text back if it was pass/fail. I want to make sure it works with the UIFN and ITFS access codes exactly as I have it printed because these numbers are for documents.

Thanks!

Do not know if this is practicle, but you could set up numbers in the different countries that Remote Call Forward or equivalent to your international toll free numbers for testing purposes.

Obviously, that would be possible only if those entities have such a feature or offering. Or maybe some other international carrier. Of course cost could be an issue here too.
