Hello,

I have to install RHEL on a server with two drives, but wish to run a test installation using VMware to confirm that I can use RAID 5. I have an external drive, and created partitions which under Windows XP allow me to see my external as two distinct drives.

However, DRUID sees the external drive as a single drive with separate partitions, is there a way to simulate having multiple drives?

If you're using VMware, you should be able to present two drives to the guest OS as two .vmdk files.

More importantly, you can't have RAID 5 with only two drives.

Hello,

Thanks, I meant Raid 1, I wish to mirror the drive contents.

I am not sure where in the settings to configure multiple vmdks, when I go to Settings>Hard Disk I see the name of the current vmdk file but I don't see an option to add another file.

Could you advise how?
