We have a gateway at two locations, one a datacenter and another at a branch office. These were (so I'm told) configured so that if the gateway or T1 went down at one facility, calls would flow to the other gateway.

I would like to test this but am unsure how to do so without physically unplugging one of the gateways.

What options might I have, and how can I confirm in CM or other that my test calls are landing at the redundant site?

I guess list trace station 'your extn' and call out. You'll see your call hit a route pattern which would presumably that route would have 2 choices with one in each gateway

Thanks kyle555. And do you know of a good way to safely take down the gateways or T1s without needing to be physically on site?

Busy trunk 1/release trunk 1 would put one down to test going out the other way.

Camp trunk 1 would gracefully put the trunk down without kicking anyone off.

And, make sure your QoS is all in place so when it fails in the day on a busy network it works as good as that one night you test it out :)
