hello people,
I am trying to first connect my computer dektop to another desktop connected through the company's network. I was just wondering how I could do that cause I am just trying to access a asp.net page linked with an access database stored on the other desktop terminal. Do I ping the computer first and then try something out. Someone please help!!!Thank You, Munaf

Munaf,

If you are logged onto the NT domain at your PC and the folder is shared on the other PC (and you have rights to that share). You should see the other computer in "Network Neighborhood" under that Domain. You might have to drill down - if I remember back to when we had an NT network I think it was Network Neighborhood -- Entire Network -- Microsoft Networks -- "Your Domain" -- PC (you are looking for).

"Pinging" is only needed if you are testing the conectivity to that computer. You do not need to do that first if it is all setup correctly.

Hope this helps!

In NT, can you just type in the IP address in start-->run? Like
\\192.168.1.1
I can't remember...
