Simple Report Viewer for 8.5 1

Hi,

I need to find a simple report viewer for the 8.5 version of crystal reports. I do not want to have to setup the Enterprise, but I want my users to be able to view the report without having to install/buy another copy of crystal reports. I have tried the one plugin for netscape given by seagate...but it does not work. HELP.

Up through V8 you could use the "compiled report's" feature, that is once you download it. That is the viewer that you are looking for. Unfortunately, Crystal has been threatening to make the compile feature unavailable with their 'next release'. I am not sure if that meant V8.5 or the eventual V9.

See the FAQ on compiled reports for more info. If you were to get a copy of V8, you could use this feature without doubt.

Anyone know if you can use the compile feature with V8.5? I haven't bothered to upgrade since it doesn't seem to do anything worthwhile for me. Ken Hamady

LisaFarren: For your users to view reports use the CR Analyser. If you need a web viewer then I suggest you create a front end using VB and the crystal viewer that ships with the report designer component.
