I need to set up a queue w/ a single user, just so I can use a delay announcement. I need it to do the following:

1. Ring the user
2. Play delay announcement(s)
3. Go into arbitrary (or user's) VM after specified time.

The documentation available online doesn't seem to cover this scenario. Any ideas?

Thanks!

What do you plan to use for a RAN (Recorded Announcement device)? Or if you have one, what kind? Is the announcement always played first?

I recorded a few delay announcements in the VM system.

Not totally sure I get what you are doing, but I think I would:

Put the single extension in a calling group and have delay announcements related to the calling group. You could then use time based overflow to go to another calling group which could be a group mailbox that would answer right away if the group had no members and was set with time based overflow of 0 and numberbased of 1.

You could renumber the group to be the actual extension number of the phone if needed and renumber the phone to some other number.

Not sure which mail you are using. If Release 2.5 or higher MerMess I think you have delayed announcements built in. At release 4 you could create an auto copy phantom mailbox as well if you needed to move the message from the group mailbox to someone elses.

Hope this helps.

Mikedphones -

Thanks, I believe I do have built-in Delay announcements, (I get an option to record them,) but I can't get them to work properly.

I just want it to ring at 100, play a few delay announcements, and go to voicemail after a specified time. I'm not certain what I'm doing wrong, but it doesn't seem to want to play any announcements, even though I have 1 and 2 recorded. Anything else I should try?

How would one go about doing that? Is there documentation or a FAQ available?

Are you saying I need to add the VM extension (127) or the Announcements (1 and 2)?
