Simple Question

Hi,
How do you upgrade Apache HTTP Server? Do you have to uninstall it first then install the new version or is it ok to install another instance of it and recompile (mod_perl, PHP..etc)on the same machine? I am running it on a Solaris.
Please help. Thanks!

I install Apache and PHP from source. I just compile the new tarballs and install them in place over the old, making sure that I always use the same configuration options for the compile.
