Hello~
I have a question about my comp's floppy disk 'LIGHT'
Shouldn't it light up whenever it's in use??
I don't know since when... but it's been ON all the time...
is there a way to fix it?? or turn it off??
what might be the possible cause to this??
thanx

Does the drive work? I my memory is correct, the drive light is on all the time when the ribbon cable is backwards.

I had a Compaq where the light was on all the time. When it was reading it would flash a brighter green, and flash red when writing.

It worked fine. I do not recall who made the drive. It at first bothered me too, but it was the normal state for the drive.

If it is working OK you have a problem in the drive select circuitry. You can ignore it as long as the drive motor isn't spinning.
If the motor is spinning, you probably would want to replace the drive before the motor fries itself.
