Hi

Could you please help me with a simple looping command

" while : " is this command saying that all that is true.

Hi Simon,

: doesn't do anything, except return 'true'. It used to be used as the comment character in scripts

while :
do
echo hello
sleep 1
done

is the same as saying

while true
do
echo hello
sleep 1
done
