In SQL Server Management Studio there is a report icon to the right.

check out image of what I'm talking about here

sometimes that is enabled and sometimes it is not.

what would be the steps to activate the reports icon to pull meta data fro mmthe server?

What is the environment where this is not enabled that would need to be configured/installed to make this feature work?

Is there a way to pull these reorts into a centralize repository?

From initial findings the reports are undocumented along with this feature.
thanks in advance for any help,

That button is available when you have the database or server selected in the object explorer. Otherwise it is disabled.

All the data for these reports is available via the DVMs. Run SQL Profiler and you can see the actual commands which are run to get the data.
