Hello!
I have Cisco CallManager 3.3 and a Gateway (Cisco 3700).

I usually programm PBXs Ericsson BPs and MD110, but now I'm "playing" with this, and I have a simple question:

If I want to modify the B number (Called number) as I want, how do I do this with CallManager?

Example:
When someone dials 6xxxx I want it to convert to 2xxxx
Or when someone dials 0xxxxxxxxx I want it to convert to xxxxxxxxx.

It's "easy" with MD110, for example, but I can't with this...

Seemed that "Application Dial Rules" were for that, but now I think it's for another web applications.

Tryed with "Called Party Transformations" in Route Pattern and Translation Pattern, but it has no flexibility to make all that I want(you have to choose among the list box options)....

Do I have to programm directly on the Gateway to fell free for modifying the B number with total flexibility like I do with the PBXs??

Thx a lot in advance!

There are several different ways to translate the numbers in the ways you are talking. I personally would just use the translation patterns. just place it in the partition that you are diling within and make the dialed number 6XXXX and translate the called number to 2XXXX. That is all. THe drop boxes are for other functions and if you do not want to use them you do not have to.

Perfect!

Understood and done. Very simple indeed....

But now I have 2 more questions:

1) How to discard digits from the beginning? I know i can discard digits from the end, simply using the # wildcard after the n digits I want to keep, but, for example, how to make that the calls 6xxxx convert to xxxx? (61234 will come to 1234). Or 555xxxxxx convert to xxxxxx.....

2) What's the difference between Route Pattern and Translation Pattern? I'm doing the translating directly on Route Pattern, and I don't need the Translation Pattern, but I'm sure it's useful for something.... An example to see it clear?

Thx again!!

First question resolved... With 6xxxx, just put xxxx in Called Party T.M. and you have it.

Just asking about the Translation Pattern.... By the way....what does the CCM analyze first? Route Pattern and then Translation Pattern or viceversa?

No need to answer me again....

Translation Pattern goes first for preanalyze the number and translate it if necesary.... Then, Route Pattern can modify the number again, and tell us where to go (Gateway or Route List)...

Thx again!
