simple process to create a file share on IIS

Just want to know instead of creating a shared data volume in which all my users can access (based on their DACL permissions). Can I create a simple shared volume thru IIS 7 and essentially have users go thru this interface to obtain various data?

This was a request from my manager of course, I told him nothing beats a good "shared" drive letter volume.. Standard and works great but he wants to get inventive. Perhaps I'll end up doing this via a DFS root point.

any suggestions on the IIS option please let me know
