here is a relatively easy problem i just can't seem to resolve; partly because i am working with MSOffice in dutch.
Right now i am merging an access-query into Word. All is fine with filling in the different fields such as first-name and surname. But here is the problem; between first- and surnames a lot of dutch have an insertion. so it looks like this:
"Dear <firstname> <insertion> <surname>, "
But of course most people don't have an insertion, and if that field is empty the merge has two spaces inbetween <firstname> and <surname>. How can change it so that <surname> follows straight after <firstname> with just one space inbetween?

I hope someone can help me. many thanks, Spike

Merge a query from access and just have access make the full name...
In query...
Fullname: firstname & iif(nz(insertion,"") = "","", insertion & " ") & surname

In word...
Dear <Fullname>,

Or if you want to stick with the full name just change the insertion to:

Insertion: iif(nz(insertion,"") = "","", insertion & " ")
and take out the space between insertion and lastname in word.
