Our website has some pages generated with perl. Our programmer is MIA at the moment, and we just want to add simple google analytic script to certain secure pages on our server. If we just download the perl pages, install the script in a text editor, and then re-upload them we get software errors.

If someone could provide me with some basic steps to get this working I would be much obliged.

I would be searching right now but it seems the search function is receiving maintenance.

are you uploading/downloading via ftp? If so are you using ascii?

compare the permissions and ownership on the file before & after you upload

Mike

When working on any project the value of other people is exactly that - they are other people, with views that don't necessarily match yours. This mismatch, between their views and the view you've been contentedly assuming is right, is where that value lies.

That was it mike.

Permissions were all changed around after we uploaded the new files.

Thank you both for your help, this solves a bunch of our problems.
