I was wondering if any one could keep me from pulling out the last of my hair over this one. I have a three computer network using one test (bench) computer, my usual desktop and my work laptop. I have a 5 port 3Com hub and a Linksys internet router which also acts as DHCP server. Things were going along fine and then one day I hade a bit of trouble with the Ip Address issued to me by my Cable ISP. After quite a bit of wrestling I was able to get the connection back. Now my usual desktop seems to no longer be part of the network.
- The machine in question still has access to the network and email
- Both the other machines can access each other
- Both the other machines can ping each other, but not the BAD machine.
- The BAD machine can ping the others but not see them in Network Neighbourhood.
I am not an expert but I can not find anything in the settings of the the BAD machine to explain this. I am likely asking too much, but perhaps someone knows of a logical reason for this behavior?
Thanks in advance
