Having a Conditional Format issue:

What would be the formula to search Column A
for duplicates and show results in the Column B

Thks in Adv.

Hi,

This has nothing to do with conditional formatting.

You could use the COUNTIF function in column B
[tt]
B1: =COUNTIF(A:A,A1)
[/tt]
Then use the Data > AutoFilter to show everything with a count > 1

But if you want to use conditional formatting to do this, you can (in a mere three clicks).

In Excel2007, but NOT in previous versions, you can highlight the column in which you expect duplicate entries, and choose from the "Home" ribbon,
Conditional formatting - Highlight cell rules - Duplicate values.

This will highlight all cells in your column A that are duplicates. It will not, however, put them in column B if that's what you need.
