Simple Excel query 1

I have a column in Excel with about 1000 records. What is the formula to get rid of the first character in each record?

So if the entry in A1 was *2342 then it would become 2342

Select the range then run...

for each c in selection
  with c
    .value = right(.value, len(.value)- 1)
  end with
next
