Simple Date Sorting Question, I think!

I've set up a report which subtotals by month and list each Sales Order by date. In the grouping I've got Date Received, Ascending order and Grouper Header and Footer set to yes, with Group on Month. <br>

I am getting the correct subtotals and totals, but the dates are not in ascending order. I have the query set to ascending on the Date Received, but to no availe....<br>

What am I doing wrong here? <br>

The report for some reason does not care about sorting from the query. I have had similar problems. You have to re-apply sorting in your report.<br>
<br>
Click on the header and details sections in your report and make sure you have sorted Descending if you want the most recent date on top.<br>

If the date is not the only column sorted or it is not the left most column it will sort on the left most first.<br>
You can tell by looking at the other columns.<br>

After the sort by DATE in descending order add another sorting line that has daynumber(date) and sort in ascending order.<br>

This should cure the problem.
