I'm not sure if this is the correct forum my apologies if I've got this wrong!

I'm in the process of setting up a basic Database of Names and addresses. one for clients, one for Prospects and a final one for 3rd parties we deal with (all on MS-SQL 2008).

My main issue is getting the data in to the DB, I can do a bulk upload no problem. Its the day to day adding / amending contacts is my issue. I'm looking at this from a fresh perspective and will need to learn the simplest method as we dont need anything to fancy. We have office 2010 professional (all the apps inc. Access), we can use internal websites if needed as I have IIS running on a few servers.

Any hints / tips or ideas are most welcome and of course the books needed to help me along as of course with a small business means no budget or training to help!

We mainly use .NET programs scheduled through Task Manager, as controlling bulk inserts is easier for us in .NET. I have not used SSIS but it also can be scheduled (it basically is a .NET program).

Thanks for the reply, looks like I'm goping to try using Access to do the front end stuff like add / ammend records on an individule basis then run a single one off data entry for the majority of the client details.

Just got to find a good book now!
