Why is the Ocx listed under tools but when you try to use it it says license required. Going to Microsofts web is like walking through a maze in the dark. Useless. Can you give me some direction. Is there a good third party Ocx that will allow me to write code to activate? As you see I am new at the ActiveX stuff. I just want the dialog to pop up on a form to locate a path/filename so I can transfer the info into a hyperlink field to activate the file when clicked. Maybe there is a better way ? Help . Thanks

I'm still trying to figure that out for a MSHFlexGrid Control. I know in the page code, under the controls "clsid" that you have to put a codebase attribute in it telling it where the control is located on the server and a version number will make it check and update when a newer version is available. I have it where it comes up on my test computer and ask if you would like to download and install the MSHFlexGrid control from MS. I click on yes and it acts like it's downloading. I can also see it in the registry, but it won't operate. From this I know it's downloading but I'm still unable to use it. I made a license for it from the license tool that comes with Visual Studio 6.0 and included the license number in the codebase but that didn't help either.

If someone here knows what we are doing wrong, please tell me. Rob
