Hi folks,

I am trying to create a chart on a report using the wizard but am getting no-where fast. What I am trying to do is the simplest pie chart.

The chart should be based on a query, which looks similar to this.

ColumnA ColumnB ColumnC
10 5 5

Where the first row is the column headings and the second row is a count.

What I would expect is a pie chart where 50% is one colour (ColumnA), 25% is another colour(columnB) and the remaining 25% is another colour again (columnC).

However, no matter what I try, all I get is the pie chart all one colour.

Can anyone help with this?

Thanks in advance,

The chart wizard doesn't want to do "by row" pie charts. It wants to do "by Column". If your data looked like ...

A 5
B 5
C 10

the wizard would work like a charm but you have rows

a b c
5 5 10

so go ahead and use the wizard but when it's done

change the row source for the chart to something like

SELECT Null AS Expr1, Table1.a, Table1.b, Table1.c FROM Table1;

don't forget the null in the first column

then

double click the chart and in design click "by Row"
