Hello

I have set up simh and boot vax openvms 7.2. I sign in with system and try to edit a file using this command line "edit sys$manager:systartup_vms.com" when the editor comes up with the file it has a lot of either escape codes or ansi characters.. Oh by the way at this point i have already use the command "set term/vt100" how do i get a clear editor so i can read the screen.

hello

i worked out my problem. I am using simh. So when i booted up vms i was using the default terminal window that simh provides. the fix... I added the following to my vax.ini file. "set console telnet port=6969" then downloaded putty. Now when i boot vms it prompts me to run putty in telnet mode with the above port. It works very nicely.
