SIM Card Rejected

I was given a Blackberry 6710 to fix or look at why it doesn't work. I get a message on the screen that says SIM card rejected. Anybody know what this means?

No messages or phone service will work anymore. I tried removing the SIM and cleaning it and sticking it back in without any luck.

I guess I am answering my own question. It seems T-Mobil got a unit that we sent for repair with this unit and did a sim card change thus deactivating my existing good unit.
