I have a laptop with a 633 Cely and 64 MB RAM. What I am trying to do is elminate Windows all together. Not that I don't like Windows, 2000 0wnz, but I just want to see if I can do it. So here's where I'm stuck:
The laptop has FreeBSD 5.0/Windows 2000 on it. All is well. Except in BSD, XServer eats the ram to peices. Everything I have to do on that laptop is commandline stuff (under BSD, bsdairtools rox). What would be nice is if I could listen to a Shoutcast stream from the command line.
It's a long running joke. I'm a tech for a wireless broadband ISP and when we get a node up and running, we don't say a word. We just hit the business manager on the Nextel with a shoutcast stream of techno (he hates techno, but he knows what it means). Not having to boot into Windows to do that would be nice. Not to mention, a command line stream would be 1337.
Any suggestions would be great. I searched through the ports listing on freebsd.org/ports but to no avail (that's like 10,000 things to dig through). I have Linux Compatability installed (as always) so if it's something that's not in /ports/, it'll still run. I'm just dying to run shoutcast from the command line. Thanks for any help... Hope I was of some help...
