I know it's silly to ask beacouse actually I understand from the pictures (from the manuals that I read) that is a network connection or at least a kind of but what does NIC mean???

It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice.
Thanks for your attitude!

remyvrs,
For what you are requesting
NIC = Network Interface Card

NIC can also refer to Network Information Center

remyvrs,

A NIC is typically a Network Interface Card, which generally plugs into a PCI or ISA slot and provides either a RJ-45 ethernet jack or a bnc connector, sometimes both.

Windows refers to a NIC as a "Network Adapter".

thanks very much!

It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice.

Now that you know this little nugget of wisdom, try not to giggle at the people who casually drop the phrase "NIC card" into their technical conversations. It seems to have become common usage.

I try not to let my ignorance prevent me from offering a strong opinion.
