Is there any kind of silent monitoring on the Partner system?

There is no service observing on the Partner.

You can set an extension to Privacy off. Then, another extension could pick-up the line they are on and listen in. You have to know which line to pick-up though.

with extension privacy off both parties will likely know someone has barged in on the call , like somebody picking up a extension at home .

Ive used both the melco and viking with the partner .

I believe the Melco and Viking units are the silent type, and I don't recall if they have a barge-in feature. A pair is connected to each line or analogue station that is to be monitored up to the max for the unit.

yes you can barge in and or record on either the viking or melco unit
