Hi everybody: The ol' UCx has been working great for us with all of your help ... thanks so much again!! I had an issue today with calls to Intuit. The calls kept disconnecting, and they would have to call me back. It could very well be it was something with their phone system, but thought I'd check and see if it might be something on our end. Every time it seemed to happen, there was silence on the line. I looked at the GrandStream settings, and there's a setting for "Silence Timeout". It's set to the default of 60s. Would that have had anything to do with it? Again ... not even sure it's a problem with us, but it made me wonder ...

The other issue we're having is intermittent silence when placing people on hold. We have the music-on-hold set correctly. I checked the songs, and there's one that has a really long filename ... much different than the others. I tried to delete it, and when I do, I get thrown into a plain text web page, and at the bottom, it says, "You're trying to use an invalid character. Please don't." It won't let me delete that file for whatever reason. Does the UCx have a file browser utility installed that I can go to the directory where the MOH files are and simply delete the file myself?

Thanks again for the great help.

As a follow-up, adjusting the silence setting seemed to help. I stayed connected for over an hour without issue. When the tech rep would leave the line, they would put me on speaker and press the MUTE button, resulting in dead silence. When the silence met the 60s disconnect time limit, the line would go dead. I increased the setting, and didn't have issues afterwards. FYI.

You can use for example WinSCP ( Use the admin account and password for the login. The default MOH files are in
/var/lib/asterisk/mohmp3
If you created a separate category for your MOH files, the category name is used as a subdirectory name under /var/lib/asterisk/mohmp3.

thanks ucxguy - will give that a try! :)
