Good day all. I'm building a small auto attendant on a Unity voice mail box. Is there a way to have several seconds of silence after the greeting to give the caller time to make a selection? Also, is the IPCC the recommended system for a "real" automated attendant?
Thanks in advance.

You can leave a couple seconds at the end of your recording before you stop it or you can put a couple seconds between having the recording play a second time. I usually have the recording play 2 times then do a default action like transfer to the Operator. Believe it or not there ARE still a few rotary dial phones out there and people can't Press 1.

Thanks for the reply! I tried the pause after the greeting but the system seems to detect silence and stops the recording and give me my options.

Hello Oldtimephoneguy,

If you go into the greeting options for the mailbox you can change the delay betwen re-prompt value. User -> edit -> greetings -> standard "Delay Between Re-prompt Value.

Do the day and let the day do you.

Thanks hanluc. I've tried that but it won't let me do it unless I allow it to reprompt and play the greeting over again which wouldn't be "cool" in some cases.

Try as I suggested above then while recording put a low level click or something that may stop Unity from deleting the trailing pause.

Thanks again! That's what I was thinking except at the end say something like "Please make your choice now as this call will end right now".
