hello everyone, i was installing windows XP into a new harddrive, so that means i had to pop in the 6 DISK in order to start it up.
the menu asked to format to NTFS or leave as is
it's FAT32 at the moment, the installer already highlighted
"leave as is"

so i pressed enter, and after it scanned the harddrive this message pop'ed up

"the following value in the .sif file is either missing or corrupted"

value 0 in the line in the section [sourcediskfiles]
with keys sf2.cab

setup cannot continue

- thanks

Hi caudalie
I would like to suggest that you start the process again and this time select to format the hard drive with NTFS instead of FAT32
Hope this helps

why dont you try to boot your pc from the Win XP CD and start the installation from that???
Who uses disks nowadays?

If you can boot from CD you probably don't need the floppies.

Are you mismatching the startup floppies with your version on Service Pack on the XP CD? You have floppies for Home or Pro, plus floppies for Non SP, SP1 or SP2.
