Siemens Hipath 3750 voicemail static 1

Hi

I have a Siemens hi-path 3750 and I do my best to maintain it.

I have manager E access.

In the last few days the voicemail has become "crackly" and is not audable when dialing 555 from a handset. Likewise when anyone external calls and gets through to voicemail all you can hear is static.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

First thing I would do is down the voicemail and reboot the voicemail system. As one of my service techs likes to say - "Sometimes all it needs is a good enema."

After that reboot the switch.

If that doesn't work check your connecting means between the voicemail and the switch - methods vary depending on the implementation so that's a good generic description.

Then see if there is a way you can dial into each port manually on the voicemail and see if it's just one port or all of them.

Beyond that you have to start thinking about hardware - reseating boards and the like, so it's easier to do the easy stuff first...

Do you have EVM or do you use a Box-it/Ear4000 or something similar?

They don't do an EVM for the 3750.
IVM 8 or 24.
