siemens hipath 3550

Iam a IT director to a company and we have a siemens hipath 3550.
I have background in telecom phonesystems, I have added a digital station card in slot 5 of the system. I see the card and i created extensions to the card. It says no port beside the extensions. When i go to system wide i can see a card configure tab but it is grayed out and so is the password change option. Iam using the admin password is there another password i need to be able to configure the card?

it will show no port if you don't have a extension connected.
as for the password grayed out, you may not have logged on with the admin password so you wont have rights to change it.
when you do a transfer an box will come up showing what user you are logged on as. what does that say?

I do have phone's connected to the port. When i plug in the phone all the lights blink on the phone then it goes dead. On the system wide the card configure tab is also grayed out. Iam not at the office at the moment but when i get back ill take a look at what user iam . But iam using the default user pasword and user.

Is it a SLA or SLU card?

Blinking and then dead sounds like a analog card. Thats a SLA

what phones are you connecting? and do the work on other ports.
was there another card in that slot before....if you look at the manager software in system wide does it show a slu in that slot

It could be a faulty card

There was no other card in the port and it does show slu when i go into system wide, i tried another slot and it still did not work and the phones do work with another port

I would get another card to check, sounds like a faulty card
