A hiPath was just installed in our Austin office. Unfortunately, I am in Dallas and am administrator remotely. I have an extension that seems to be programmed just fine but when called it covers to the receptionist.

Here is the info on the switch under settings\set up station

Call #5062
DID 5062
Name M. Thomas
Param ...
Inactive seems to be active because there is no *
Type optipoint 500 standard
Access SLMO24 6 - 21 Master

These are the same settings as other users. Why is the user not able to use the phone? Is it switch related? I'm an Avaya guy so this is new to me. Any help would be appreciated.

First thing you should try is to ask someone to press #0 on the phone this will reset alle activated functions on the phone like forwarding ect.
If this doesn't work the problem will most likely be found in the system programming under settings -> incomming calls.
If you work with the latest manager-e tool go to the tab call forwarding.
Lookup the phone in the bottom list. Here you see to which routing number in the upper list it is pointing. Then lookup this list number in the upper list and you will probably will find in this list in the first colum the number of the reception.
You could do two things:
1. delete the reception number in this list (NOT Recommended) because some other phones will stop function the right way.
2. Change the number in the bottom list to a number which refers to a list that says only *

I hope this is a bit understandeble because to make the changes is a lot easier than explain it

Good luck
