I've got a Siemens 3750 T1 set for ESF/B8ZS that's slipping and having line coding errors. The T1 carrier says it's setup for SF/AMI. According to someone else who worked on it with the carrier when I was out last week, setting the 3750 to SF/AMI caused the T to go down. The trouble started when the site was unable to fax. In this condition, voice quality sounds ok, even with the line coding errors as I've never detected any voice quality issued with just slipping. I can maybe occasionally hear a click or very brief static. What I wonder is how can the T work at all when the carrier says it's SF/SMI? I've had trouble with just slipping after a fax trouble report. In those cases I verified the clocking was set correctly, a system reload resolved the trouble. We may need to to the same with this.
