Siemens 150 connecting to SE voicemail

Have a Siemens 150 with a SE voicemail I had to reload without the backup tapes. Got the whole thing up and running, but it takes so long for voicemail to answer. I also can't directly dial in to voicemail to check or change any of my greeting. It is setup for direct dial in VM FOR 300=DIRECT DIAL,,310 FORWARD AND 320 GUEST. Anybody got any idea. I think it is something in the forwarding in the 150, but can't figure it out.

I have a similar configuration even though I have a centrally located phonemail that goes across cornet to another site.

When I set mine up I have 2 phantom extensions (AKA Pseudo Ports) created (extensions created in white space with no port numbers associated). One of them I have titled PhoneMail Access, and the other one PhoneMail IBMN. The one I have called PhoneMail Access is set to Answer Machine for type, and the IBMN one is set to type PhoneMail (CallNo 5-Digits).

After you have that created and uploaded to the system then you need to go to a phone with full privileges - usually in the switchroom, and use Associated dialing to call forward those 2 phantom numbers on all conditions. The "Access number" gets pointed at the number you have designated for the phonemail hunt group. The "IBMN number" gets forwarded to the number of the port you have designated for "callback" on phonemail. I am assuming you have your phonemail connected to a series of analog ports on an SLA16 or 24 card. One of theose ports will be the IBMN port and the rest are usually configured in a hunt group to access the rest of the phonemail ports.

The syntax or the associated dialing is like this:

*83 (# of Access phantom) *11 (# assigned to phml hunt group)

*83 (# of IBMN phantom) *11 (# assigned to phml IBMN port)

Note the spacing above is for illustration. The actual dial sequence using one of my ports as an example is:

*838333*113582

Note now that when you set up your station forwarding destinations you will direct them to your phantom "PhoneMail Access" number. The IBMN number is where the calls go when you push the mailbox key or respond to a display prompt to check your messages - I believe it happens automatically because you designated that number as type "PhoneMail (Callno 5-digits)".

Hope this wasn't too confusing.
