Sidekick98 freezes after 5 squares open and will not continue 1

I have been using sidekick 98 for about 7 years. Recently it stopped working and I am unable to open it. If I try to reload the skw98sea.exe it will open to 99% and then freeze. Any info will be appreciated I have 7 years of info in the program files......

The execute file that opens Sidekick 98 is sidekick.exe - not skw98sea.exe. I can't find the latter file in my Sidekick program folder. If you don't have the sidekick.exe file in your program folder you might do a reinstall. Saving your user data and reinstalling Sidekick, (being sure to install the patch before trying to open Sidekick) should get you up and running.

I know the sidekick.exe is the execute file in sidekick that opens sidekick. It is the one that at will only open 5 squares then it freeses. The other file I mentioned is the file that loads the version of sidekick and it will only open to 99% and then locks up. I am running windows Xp pro. and I am unable to fine out what causes this to happen.
