Sidekick Changes Monitor Resolution on XP 1

Opening Sidekick on my Averetec XP Notebook turns the screen black momentarily before changing to a much less resolute setting. I cannot find anything in Sidekick and don't see any changes made to the Monitor Display Properties Settings. It just looks very grainy.

Anyone know what causes this and the likely repair?

Dear lappi212,

If this is Sidekick98 then:

I imagine this could be because you are running it in COMPATIBILITY MODE
See the compatibility tab in the (right-click) properties of the shortcut that you use to start the program as you may have ticked "run in 640 X 480 resolution".
Try unticking all those boxes as I have not had to even run the program in compatibility mode.

See how you get on.
